Styx was amazing the other night. The Mission half of the set was so dead on. Love the older songs, but so good to hear the newer music from this line up. Back to a older more progressive roots. Going back for the second show!!

So glad we went to the Styx show in Fort Myers. Personally, I am usually hesitant to see the bands from my youth as we age but am grateful I made an exception for this show. The sound and the songs were amazing and Styx just put on a great show!!!

STYX AND REO SPEED WAGON AT PUYALLUP FAIR 9/23/21

So I was at the Styx concert in Puyallup Wa. last night. Both REO Speed wagon and Styx were on their game this night. The venue at the fair has a great sound system. REO hit the stage first. Incredible energy. And the singer still sounds great. The guitar player that replaced the original is absolutely amazing. Played all their hits pretty much. Then on to Styx. Styx was great. They played a lot of their hits. The guy who replaced the original keyboard player is incredible I don't know how he emulates Denis so well. He has a lot of talent. And his vocals were good too. I found myself wondering if he got some lessons from the original guy. Tommy Shaw and JW were great as usual. Enjoyed the master of the Stratocaster JW and Tommy's vocals. Just what you would expect from 2 great bands from the 70s

STYX AT THE BEACON THEATER NYC

What a great concert! Started with Mission to Mars and Styx sounded fantastic. Tommy Shaw's vocals and guitars never better, Lawrence Gowan ditto and funny and full of energy-great Elton John nod-and playing keyboards without looking, JY still the same rock beast on guitar, and all the band members drums, base, guitars, mandolin, unbelievable skill and experience shone thru with every song! House blew up with the classics. It was soooo refreshing and therapeutic for all in attendance after covid breaks to enjoy the concert again and I believe the band enjoyed the night too as was evident. Thank you guys for being a part of the soundtrack of our lives and many more albums and years of success!

ROCKIN’ IN PARADISE!!!

Mission to Mars: first half of the show was outstanding. Although was not that familiar with the whole album, as a prog fan I enjoyed and was superbly performed. The hits: Everything even the one for the new album was a walk through memory lane. I jumped, sang and fist pumped with the likes of Come Sail Away, Blue Collar Man and Renegade and reminisce of my younger years with the likes of Lady, Crystal Ball and Fooling Yourself. Sound: very good Stage: kinda simple Musicianship: out of this planet The best of the night: the ageless Tommy Shaw Worth every penny!!!

GREAT SHOW, SOUND, AND VENUE!

Fourth time I've seen Styx in concert. The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville was a great venue. Sound was just right. Production was great but not over the top. Performance and vocals were fantastic. As a big Tommy Shaw fan, it was fun to see him play his new banjo. They performed a few of the newer songs, which I liked. Everything else was a classic: Blue Collar Man, Grand Illusion, Miss America, Crystal Ball, Rockin' the Paradise, Fooling Yourself, Come Sail Away, and more. The encore was Mr. Roboto and Renegade. If you've not seen Styx since Dennis DeYoung, Lawrence Gowan is outstanding--he's a fantastic pianist with great pipes! Chuck Panozzo and James Young still rock!

HEART/STYX

Wow. Worth the $$. Not as old and withered as I feared. Great interaction. Lot’s of old hit’s with some cool new tunes.

MUDDY SOUND, GOOD 2ND HALF

Terrible sound quality- guitars and vocals not clear. The "mission" concept was interesting, but I have not followed their music in years and just did not think that the material holds up against the 70s and early 80s stuff. Loved second half with the classic songs.. New material sounded good too. Drummer is great, but over powering on some songs. Love the Warner, but not enough restrooms and cramped seats in the upper balcony.

WAY TOO MUCH BASS

Sound quality was awful. We left before intermission- so much bass blocked out the other instruments and lyrics. Very disappointed.

STYX

The music and show were great but we left at intermission because it was too loud! Now, i have been to numerous rock concerts in my day, but never one that physically hurt my ears. And this isnt a Tanger thing because i have been to other concerts there and had no issues. This was Styx’s sound man with his hand on the volume. My wife and I were both incredibly uncomfortable. Really disappointed it didn’t work out.

NOTHING BUT BASS

Bass was very loud! Hard to hear other instruments especially guitars. Get a better sound man.

THE WORST SHOW EVER!

The most self indulgent show I’ve ever seen. The crowd was there to hear the music they knew and loved and was instead held captive by a 2017 album that sounded like it was made in 1976.
